Key Finding

This study found excellent reliability of the Enhanced Paper Grip Test using EasyForce for assessing foot strength in volleyball and soccer athletes.

Abstract

To evaluate the reliability of the Enhanced Paper Grip Test (EPGT) for assessing foot strength in volleyball and soccer players.

The study examined intra-visit and inter-visit reliability in athletic populations.

Methods

A cross-sectional observational study with repeated measurements. A convenience sample of 28 athletes (13 volleyball players and 15 soccer players) participated in the study. Setting: Field-based study.

Results

The main outcome measures were the intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) for intra-visit and inter-visit reliability, typical error, and coefficient of variation for the force (N) recorded in EPGT test. Excellent reliability was demonstrated with ICC values > 0.90.

Conclusion

The Enhanced Paper Grip Test using EasyForce provides reliable measurements of foot strength in athletic populations, making it suitable for screening and monitoring foot strength in volleyball and soccer players.
