Effectiveness of EMMETT Technique on Iliotibial Band Tightness in Football Players

Abstract

This study evaluated the effectiveness of the EMMETT manual therapy technique on iliotibial band flexibility in young male footballers.

The study used EasyAngle® to measure changes in flexibility before and after EMMETT technique application.

Methods

Randomized controlled trial with male footballers. Iliotibial band flexibility was measured using EasyAngle® before and after EMMETT technique intervention.

Results

The EMMETT technique group showed significant improvement in iliotibial band flexibility (p < 0.001) compared to the control group, as measured by EasyAngle®.

Conclusion

The EMMETT manual therapy technique significantly increases iliotibial band flexibility in young male footballers. EasyAngle® proved to be a reliable measurement tool for this application.
