Key Finding

This study found that EasyAngle® provides slightly better accuracy than the gold standard CROM device for measuring cervical spine rotation in healthy individuals.

Abstract

This study found that EasyAngle® provides slightly better accuracy than the gold standard CROM device for measuring cervical spine rotation in healthy individuals.

The study compared the accuracy and practicality of EasyAngle® versus the cervical range of motion (CROM) device and iPhone app Compass.

Methods

Comparative accuracy study with 60 healthy participants. Cervical rotation was measured using EasyAngle®, CROM device, and iPhone Compass app, with 3D motion analysis as the reference standard.

Results

EasyAngle® showed slightly better accuracy (mean difference 1.2°) compared to CROM (mean difference 2.1°). EasyAngle® also demonstrated faster measurement time and better ease of use.

Conclusion

EasyAngle® provides accurate cervical spine rotation measurements with better practicality compared to the traditional CROM device, making it a suitable alternative for clinical use.
